can you take fish oils while doing the protocol?

Do Not take omega 3 fish oils, flaxseed oil, vitamin E in oil or any other oils, because these compete with your fat stores for the hcg.

Are Sublingual drops as effective as Injections?

If done properly, the body will absorb 95% of the hCG under the tongue. What ever hCG is swallowed will be destroyed in the stomach. Keep it under your tongue as long as you can, 5 minute minimum.

Are there any side effects with using hCG?

The vast majority of people report no problems with the sublingual hCG. Some people report slight headaches which may be due to the hCG or to the Very Low Calorie Diet. Some that are prone to migraines have reported migraines during the first week. Bodybuilders that take massive amounts of hCG have reported spells of vomiting.

Do I have to exercise while on the HCG diet?

No. Exercise is not a mandatory part of the program. While vigorous exercise may increase the amount of weight you lose while on this plan, it is not a significant increase and is not recommended, because on a 500 calorie diet you can easily become too exhausted. That leads to discouragement and frustration. However, we do recommend moderate activity for all of the other benefits you receive, including stress relief and cardiovascular health. If you are already accustomed to exercising at a certain level and would like to continue, do so, but do not over do it. Pay attention to your body's response. Scale down the intensity of the workouts if: (1) you don't have the energy to get through it; (2) you start feeling ill or light headed; (3) you gain weight the next day; or (4) you don't have the energy to get through the day after you work out. Our suggestion for those who want to exercise is that you walk for 20 to 30 minutes daily. Walking is great exercise and contributes to your health in a variety of ways. It helps relieve stress, keeps the bowels moving, conditions your cardiovascular system, and encourages better blood/oxygen circulation. When you are are finished with the HCG diet regimen and are back on a regular diet you can then pick up the intensity of your exercise routines.

Do I have to follow a special diet If I take the HCG drops?

Yes. You must follow the entire HCG Diet Protocol as described in Dr. Simeons' manuscript, "Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity", where he outlines a special 500-calorie-per-day diet that was tested on thousands of patients. HCG is only effective for weight loss if it is taken while strictly following Dr. Simeons' HCG Diet Protocol, including the 500 calorie diet. Taking HCG alone (without the diet) will not cause you to lose weight. HCG takes effect when you reduce your food intake so that the mobilized fat will be used for your body's energy needs. If you fail to follow the diet you will fail to lose weight. If you only follow the diet without taking HCG, you are simply starving yourself because there is no fat in the bloodstream to burn. Simply put, both are required. Also see the next two questions.

Does HCG work for everyone?

Although HCG is naturally produced only in pregnant women, as a diet aid it works the same for men and women, Occasionally someone finds that it doesn't work as effectively for them as it does for most people. Just like with any drug or medication, or even with food (e.g., allergies), there is individual variation in its efficacy. Everyone is familiar with the fact that doctors often have to change people's medications because they don't respond as expected. So although HCG is effective for the great majority of people who try it, there is no guarantee that it will work for everyone. How do I Stabilize?

Stabilization: (phase 3 in Kevin Trudeau’s book) Start slow, eating only for your appetite. Sometimes the HCG isn’t quite gone right away and can cause gains for the first couple of days. Eat proteins and fats, as much as 65% of your calories in fat! But I don’t count calories. Eat to satisfy your appetite, NOT to satisfy your old habits. Eat slowly and savor every little bite. If you get hungry between meals, nibble on proteins. Include a little non-starchy veggies. Keep fruits to a minimum and more to berries because of their low sugar content. Absolutely no starches/sugars: potato, pasta, grain, pastry, bread, corn, legumes of any kind. NONE! ZERO!!!! Remember cheese and nuts are calorie dense foods and a small amount goes a LONG way. If you go 2 lbs over your target weight (weight on day of last injection) do: a steak day: drink all the water you want, but no food until dinnertime, then eat a huge, juicy steak and an apple or raw tomato OR a protein day: drink all the water you want. Nibble very small amounts of protein during the day just to ward off hunger. Have a small chicken breast and small salad for lunch then a small steak and small salad for dinner OR An egg day: as many as 12 whole eggs in a day. May also use a small amount of cheese, mayo, sausage/bacon, salsa, etc. This should result in a 1-3 lb loss the next morning!!! Three weeks is the recommended time for this phase. If you begin the diet again before 2 weeks, or if you have been eating as advised above, you do not need to gorge again, but just begin low cal diet.

How does HCG help me lose weight?

HCG appears to act on the hypothalamus, signaling the body to release stored fat into the bloodstream where it is then available to be used by the cells for nourishment. This alone will not cause weight loss, though, unless you reduce your food intake. This forces the body to use the mobilized fat from the bloodstream. HCG causes the release of abnormal fat without affecting structural fat and muscle tissue. Which means you lose in those stubborn areas--hips, thighs, buttocks and upper arms!

How does hCG work with a Very Low Calorie Diet?

Simply put, when a person restricts their calories to 500 per day along with daily doses of hCG, the hCG tricks the body into burning fat instead of muscle. Anytime a person goes on an extremely low calorie diet (without hCG) to lose weight the body does not release enough fat fast enough to provide energy due to the low calories. It is for this reason, crash diets normally don’t work and are extremely unhealthy. How hard is it to keep the weight off once I’ve lost it?

How Long Will HCG Stay Potent?

There is a lot of diffrent answers to this questions.
Some "experts" say hcg will stay good for up to 60 days, others say 30 days. Personally I have noticed that sometime after 30 days the hcg starts losing potency. Not so bad that you are starving to death but noticeable. To me it is worth it to mix a new batch and just have a easy 40 days.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

If the program is followed perfectly, men report a loss of 1 to ½ pounds per day. As a general rule women do not lose as much as men although some do lose around 1 pound per day. Is hCG a Sex Hormone?

Is hCG safe?

Women’s bodies produce extremely high amounts of hCG when they are pregnant, as much as 1,000,000 IU per day without any ill effect, it is natures way to insure a healthy baby. The amount of hCG taken per day on this program is between 275 IU and 325 IU per day. (If one ounce equaled the amount of hCG you get in a single dose of hCG Body Shaper, you would have take 39 gallons per day to equal the amount of hCG a pregnant woman produces in a single day.)

Plateau Breakers

• Increase water intake to 2 - 3 quarts per day. • Try increasing your protein by .5 ounces. • Eat 6 apples only 1 day. • Cut American beef down or out. • Check all condiments for any form of sugar. ‘Garlic Salt’ may list sugar as an ingredient. Any seasoning salt or seasoning product must be carefully checked. • Stop mixing vegetables. • Don’t eat breadsticks. • Make sure there are no additives in chicken or other protein sources – many times these are injected with some form of sugar even in the grocery store. • Consider the potency of your HCG – you may need a new, fresh batch. Potency can be checked by drawing up a bit of your mixed HCG and putting it on a pregnancy test kit that you would put urine on. Have you reached your Ideal weight? Are you in the suggested weight range for your height and build? Are you also hungry and not feeling as good, etc? It may be time to stop losing. See the manuscript for details on reaching your goal during a cycle of shots. Basically, you increase food intake to level off losing until the minimum number of shots is reached, then follow the protocol through the 6 week stabilizing phase. • For women, your cycle may be coming in to play -- review Dr. Simeons' manuscript. • Have you changed or started one or more medications? The change may just cause a few days delay as your body adjusts, but you may want to consult with your physician to possibly change again or go back to the previous medication if the plateau continues and all plateau breaking methods fail. • Review the manuscript for serious plateaus (5 days or longer). While the manuscript reports ‘apple days’ as purely psychological, many participants report a loss of 2 pounds the day after an apple day. • Since the protocol says you are not required to eat all the food each day, you may consider dropping one or both of the ‘breads’ and/or one of your fruits, etc. • One client is not very hungry and likes to do a ‘mini steak day’ ever so often. If you are familiar with the manuscript, a ‘steak day’ refers to a routine you follow after you have completed the shot phase and are weighing daily. During this time, if your morning weight is 2 pounds over your last shot weight, you have a ‘steak day’. A ‘steak day’ means you drink water, tea, and coffee when you want and in whatever quantity you want, but you do not eat anything until dinner. For dinner you have a large steak and either a tomato or an apple. So for a ‘mini steak day’, the client drinks allowable drinks, but basically has a 100 gram steak serving with an apple for dinner. That’s it until the next day when she returns to the normal 500 diet. Again, the client does this when weight loss is stalled and she simply doesn’t feel hungry anyway (obviously because the HCG is working so well). • Consider adding a brisk walk, some yoga, or any type of 15 minute activities to your day a few times a week--anything that raises the heart rate throughout the day. The activity increases your metabolism and may increase your rate of loss. Exercise is barely mentioned in the protocol. Our interpretation is that exercise is good for everyone; however, it is simply not required to successfully lose weight on this protocol. That being said, we have observed participants who have a physically active job, such as a waitress, where the participant seemed to maintain a slightly higher daily average weight loss than those who did absolutely no physical activity. Make sure you are getting enough sleep. More than a few participants have reported being up late and getting up early and the scale reflecting little to no weight loss. However, simply weighing again an hour or so later (without eating or drinking anything) reveals a drop on the scale of up to 2 pounds. This suggests that routine and adequate sleep can effect what the scale registers. While this probably doesn’t actually affect the rate of loss, it can cause discouragement and, therefore, routine and exceptions such as being “up late and getting up early”, should be kept in mind. • Try including 2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar (ACV) to your daily regiment. Some resources recommend that you take the ACV diluted with water or juice, but not to spread out throughout the entire day as this has been shown to have negative effects on teeth enamel. Many resources claim extensive benefits due to (ACV) intake, particularly increased weight loss; however ACV may cause you discomfort if you digest the vinegar using undiluted spoonfuls only.

Should women use hCG during their monthly menstrual cycle?

No. The best time for women to start the program is immediately after their period.
